Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) claimed on Thursday that the House of Representatives’ Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol’s first hearing, which will reveal the findings of the committee, is nothing more than a political ruse orchestrated by the “idiocy” of the progressive left.
The bipartisan panel, which was formed last summer, has interviewed over a thousand witnesses who have provided documents as well as thousands of hours of eyewitness testimony about what happened before, during, and after the violent insurgency that left five people dead and threatened American democracy. Hundreds of those involved in the disturbance have been detained and charged with various offences.
Cruz, on the other hand, feels the committee, its findings, and the six public hearings scheduled are all a ruse.
